Most advent calendars are twelve small samples of things you would not buy. That is why people who take fragrance seriously tend to ignore them.

This one is built the other way round. A niche perfume advent calendar assembled from twelve houses we actually sell, with six full-size bottles among the twelve, at sizes we have published so you can check the maths yourself.

What is inside the 2026 advent calendar?

Twelve fragrances from twelve different houses, arranged to be opened one at a time. Sizes run from 15ml up to 100ml.

That comes to 575ml of fragrance across the twelve. For comparison, a standard niche bottle is 50ml or 100ml, so this is closer to six full bottles than to a box of samples.

What would these bottles cost separately?

More than the calendar, and we can show our working on three of them.

Rocca by Christian Provenzano sells at ₦543,375.00 for the 100ml, which is the size in the case. Labyrinth of Spices by Alghabra is ₦336,375.00 for the 50ml, again the size in the case. Meraki by Botanicae is ₦191,187.50 for the 100ml. Those three alone come to ₦1,070,937.50.

That is three of twelve, reaching 89% of the pre-order price.

Add Ceremony Bold by Régalien at ₦462,875.00 and the running total passes ₦1,500,000.00, which is more than the store price for the whole case. Our listing for Ceremony Bold does not state its size, so treat that fourth figure as indicative rather than a like-for-like comparison.

The remaining eight bottles are not sold at these sizes individually, so we are not going to invent numbers for them. The three we can prove are enough to make the point.

Why twelve houses rather than twelve bottles from one?

Because range teaches you more than repetition does.

Twelve bottles from one house tells you what that perfumer likes. Twelve houses tells you what you like, which is the harder and more useful thing to learn. Masque Milano and 100BON are not trying to do the same job, and the distance between them is where your own taste becomes obvious to you.

How is this different from last year?

Last year's calendar was our first, and it was built around choice. You picked a box from a set of options, and the emphasis was on variety at the point of purchase. You can still read last year's calendar post to see how it worked.

This one is a single fixed case, and the difference is editorial. We chose the twelve. Every house in it is one we stock and argue for, the sizes are larger, and the sequence is deliberate rather than random.

We made the first calendar to see whether people wanted one. This is the one we have been building towards since.

Who is this niche perfume advent calendar for?

It is for you if you already wear niche fragrance and want to widen your range faster than buying one bottle at a time allows. Buy it as a gift for someone whose taste you cannot guess, because twelve houses will find something they love where one bottle might miss.

Do not buy it expecting every one of the twelve to suit you either. Nobody loves twelve out of twelve. Seven or eight is a good outcome, and the two you dislike are still useful, because knowing what you do not want is half of finding what you do. What does pre-ordering mean?

It means you secure a case from the first batch at ₦1,200,000.00 rather than the store price of ₦1,500,000.00.

The first batch is very small. That is not a sales line, it is the constraint we are working within, and it is the reason pre-order exists at all. Once the batch is allocated, the remaining cases go to the stores at the standard price.

No. The 2026 case is a fixed selection, which is the main change from last year. We chose the twelve so that the sequence works as a whole, with the houses set against each other rather than repeating.
